Can I participate in Seamless governance?

All SEAM holders can participate in governance so long as they have delegated their SEAM. Users can either self-delegate or delegate their vote to another address. To delegate your SEAM, head to the in the Seamless Protocol app.

All community members, regardless of delegated SEAM, esSEAM or stkSEAM, are able to share their ideas in the and .

What does delegation mean?

By delegating SEAM, you are activating its voting power and assigning it to the address of your choosing. Your voting power would then be added into the voting decisions made by that address.

You are able to delegate tokens to your own address, or to a different address who will represent you in governance.

If I just hold SEAM and do not delegate, can I still vote?

No. SEAM tokens that are not delegated do not have voting power and therefore cannot participate in Seamless Protocol governance (i.e. proposals and voting).

If I delegate to another address, will I retain ownership of my SEAM?

Yes! By delegating, you retain full ownership and custody of your tokens. The process of delegation only involves the token’s inherent voting power and does not involve transferring the token itself.

Why would I want to delegate my voting power to someone else?

Delegates devote a lot of time into governance and take their work very seriously. Participating in governance is a time commitment that not everyone wants to undertake.

For individuals who care about the health and ongoing development of the protocol, but do not have the time to stay up to date on all of the latest proposals, should consider delegating their SEAM tokens to other Delegates.

If you do choose to delegate, please find a Delegate who aligns with your shared values and vision for the protocol!

When earning additional SEAM tokens, do I need to repeat the delegation process again?

No. Once you have delegated voting power, any changes to the underlying wallet balance will be reflected in the amount delegated.

Where can I see my esSEAM balance and claim for SEAM?

As your esSEAM linearly unlocks, you will see your unlocked amount as claimable SEAM.

Once you have obtained esSEAM through platform rewards and emissions, you can head to the in the app to view your esSEAM balance and claim your unlocked esSEAM for SEAM.
